Bruce Papitto
"The Bell Keepers," a nearly 8-foot-tall bronze sculpture, was selected by the Loveland High Plains Arts Council as this year's donation to the sculpture garden, purchased with proceeds from the 2009 Sculpture in the Park show. The sculpture is scheduled to be installed in July of this year.

"I imagined the scene of one such loss during spanish colonial times and depicted that, dramatically, here in my sculpture. We see a padre and a citizen of Alameda. Having just rescued the bell from their flooded church, they have tied it to a tree bough and carry it through the flood waters... to safety."

Bruce Papitto is a talented sculptor without question - add to that his mastery of communicating the message of the human spirit, well that is powerful!
